I’ve been seeing an awful lot of big game trophy hunting posts. I don’t like these people. I think anyone who looks at a lion, a giraffe, an elephant or any other animal and thinks “I want nothing more than to kill that” is a fucking sociopath.

I have no problem with people who hunt for food. That has purpose. I understand that. Can’t say I’m thrilled about it, but I understand it.

And I eat meat. I’m a carnivore. That is how I stay alive.

I don’t like to get too intimate with my food, but here is my promise:

I will take responsibility for the animals I eat.

I will never eat an animal to extinction or endangerment.

I will not be responsible for the death of more than I eat.

I will never kill for fun. Never.

We are the only species who does that. And there is something very wrong with people who do.
